PVDF
POLYVINYLYDENE DIFLUORIDE (PVDF)
PVDF is a high-crystal polymer, which unites superb chemical resistance with good mechanical, thermal and electric properties.
PROPERTIES:
- Superb chemical resistance to strong acids and bases as well as to hydrolysis,
- good sliding properties and abrasion resistance
- durability and creep resistance (better then other fluoropolymers
- good insulating properties
- exceptional resistance to UV radiation and other atmospheric factors
- high load resistance also in low temperatures
- high admissible working temperature (150°C),
- physiologically harmless (admitted to direct contact with food),
- good machinability and compression strength
- very good dimensional stability,
- low flammability
APPLICATION:
On account of its properties PVDF is widely used in various branches of industry such as petrochemical and chemical industry, food industry, paper industry, textile industry and nuclear industry. Hardness, rigidity and abrasion resistance are the most important properties of PVDF because of which it is often applied in transportation techniques, electrical engineering, laser engineering, solar installations, exhaust gas treatment, water supply systems, electronics, filters, and elements of safety equipment.
Examples of elements that can be manufactured from PVDF: agitator parts, elements of sliding container inserts, flanges, rollers, filtering sheets, seals, plugs, insulators or pipe installations.
